Technical and Promotional Writing

Good writing is much more than words and punctuation. And technical documentation is your customer's first impression of your product. First impressions last for a long time.

Technical writing, in particular, has special challenges. Good documentation and good promotional pieces for technical products must not only convey a clear message, but must present complex subject matter in a way that people can understand. Good technical writers are, therefore, translators and communicators, not just creative writers.

Brian Cayton has written dozens of articles for trade publications, covering such diverse fields as accounting, computers, communications, local area networking and semiconductors. In addition to writing technical data sheets, technical manuals, brochures, and high volume direct mail, he has presented papers at leading edge technical conferences.
